Can Someone Explain Why A Lawn Tractor Battery Wont Last As Long As The Small 12vrechargable In My Sons Gator?

Filed in Category Toy Tractors

I installed a 12v lawn tractor battery in my kids John Deere Gator ride on toy thinking it would run for hours. The small 12v Peg Perego battery that it comes with actually lasts longer between charges. Any ideas?

Try a deep cycle marine battery. They are designed for boat trolling motors and RV’s that demand a deep discharge before recharging.

12v is the input energy required to drive, see how much current (amp hours) it uses and find a battery suited to it. Also, certain battery reactants last longer than others, ie. lithium batteries, NiMh+ etc…
