Does It Really Matter What Toy A Kid Plays With?
Filed in Category Antique Toys
Lets say you have a son and a daugther. You got dolls and you got trucks and cars around the house. Your son picks up the doll and starts holding it and carrying it around the house. Who would it bother the most? Should it really matter to anyone? To me the boy is just exploring. It would be the same as if the daughter would pick up a toy car or football. What I don’t understand is why would it be horriable if the boy likes to play with a baby doll. To me it wouldn’t be a big deal.

No, I doesn’t really matter! ?
Hi
I do have a son and a daughter. My son likes princesses, dolls and shopping trolleys as well as cars, football (soccer) and his scooter. My daughter is only 12 weeks, so we’ll see what she’s into.
But in short, the younger a person is, the more psychologically balanced they are, as they haven’t been totally conditioned by parents or society. The human psyche is both male and female, anima and animus – so it makes sense that both things appeal.
I have absolutely no problem with my son liking what he likes. I and my partner are secure enough in ourselves to not worry about what others may think. His happiness is all that matters to us.
Hope that helps
My son and daughter play interchangeably with each other’s toys, including trucks, dinosaurs, dolls, and princess dress up clothes. My son is older (5) and is starting to pick up from school friends that there are social rules about these things. I won’t discourage these social rules, since it’s just the beginning of these things that rule all our lives. It’s all part of what makes us a certain culture, and there’s nothing wrong with that, either.
No it’s not a big deal. My cousin did it and now he is more respectful to women. Maybe watch him and see how he treats the doll. So then you might have something to deal with later on maybe?
Well what I see is that you should say it’s okay it doesn’t matter let the toys do the talking for themselves
Bottom line it doesn’t matter
no it doesnt matter
